And the rain begins. It rained yesterday and today. Otherwise, not much to report. Yesterday went to the National Gallery of Art. It's not bad, but definitely not as big as the greats in the US. Last night, some kids and I randomly got interviewed by RTE (think NBC) about our Irish adventures thus far. Pretty hilarious. They're supposed to call us when it airs.
Currently trying to work out some Oktoberfest stuff for my birthday, but it's kind of challenging when everything's booked already. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Orientation stuff starts tomorrow and runs through Friday. Then class Monday, or Tuesday for me. So stoked!
That's too funny about being interviewed & I hope they have a website where we can catch it. My big question to you is whether or not you've found a bike yet? Or, have you found an alternate means of transportation since there's a lot of rain? My thoughts & prayers are with you as you start orientation, Josh. Enjoy it all, Lad. Love, Nook
ReplyDeleteYour Godparents aren't being obsessive or stalking,Josh,but we were laughing at the "free trips" to IKEA that are listed on the orientation schedule for UCD. Go to Ireland & see IKEA. However, we hope you get to the ceile on Thurs. night for some traditional Irish music & dancing. Sounds great! Love,Nook & Tom

ReplyDeletere: rain -- aha.. you may not know that I once lived outside Seattle one year from March thru June. talk about rain. there were raindrops on raindrops... i will never forget the ping ping pinging of rain nonstop on the metal carport and laying there at night wondering: why on earth did they make them out of metal? but i can tell you, that was the time in my life that i truly learned, literally and figuratively, to dance in the rain -- i hiked, biked, walked, ran, everything in the rain. and to this day I hold Olympia, WA as one of my absolute favorite places to live -- you are going to have a great time, and the rain will, in many ways, add to the appeal and memories you'll cherish for a lifetime..
and, as for stalking godparents, i share 1 of them and love the other :) they are great people welcome to stalk anytime on our block :)
